Ricardo Rubén Stratta Fernández
Professor and Researcher at the Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences at the National University La Plata (UNLP), Argentina.
RICARDO RUBEN STRATTA was born in 1959 in Argentina. He holds a degree as Agronomist at UNLP; and a Diploma in Micro Development Regions and Rural Settlement Areas at CERUR (Centre for Rural Studies), Rehovot, Israel. Master’s in Rural and Local Development at UPM, Spain; and a PhD in Planning and Management of Sustainable Rural Development Projects at UPM, Spain.
TEACHING
He is currently teaching in the graduate and postgraduate of the Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences at UNPL (http://aulavirtual.agro.unlp.edu.ar/course/view.php?id=172).

RESEARCH
As a researcher he published more than 10 scientific articles journals of high impact and wrote chapters in academic books of UNLP as well as of GESPLAN Group UPM. He is an external researcher at GESPLAN Research Group, UPM. He also held several conferences and participated in various international and national Congresses, Symposia and Conferences. Additionally, he currently works as a consultant and evaluator of several scientific journals in science and technology. On many occasions he was invited to be part of the scientific committee of the thesis and doctoral jury by UNLP, UPM and Latin American universities. He is the director of the Doctoral Theses at UNLP.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Coordinator of the Diagnosis within the "Municipal Support Programme" of the Directorate of Municipal Affairs at UNLP. 2002-2006.
- Director of the Hands-to-Work Programme: “Hands-to-Work in Southern Region of La Plata” (National Plan for Local Development and Social Economy). Creation and development of Micro-SMEs for the Ministry of Social Development of Argentina. 2006-2008.
- Evaluator and Consultant for Agricultural and Social Projects PROSAP (Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food of Argentina) financed by the World Bank (IBRD) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). 2007-2008.
- Member of the Academic Council at the Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences at UNLP, appointed by the Graduate Senate, from April 1, 2004 to March 31, 2007.
- Director of the Micro-SME-Club Project targeted towards mothers and aiming at local production diversification in El Manso in the province Río Negro. 2008-2009.
- Design of a local economic development programme for the Cuña-Piru Nature Reserve, province Misiones. Directorate of Productive Products at UNLP. 2009
